تناشد بلدية غزة المنظمات الدولية والإنسانية بضرورة التحرّك العاجل لتوفير الاحتياجات الطارئة للتخفيف من الكارثة الإنسانية المتفاقمة في المدينة، في ظل النقص الحاد في المواد والمعدات الأساسية، حيث لم تصل إلى البلدية منذ وقف إطلاق النار أيّ موادّ بناء أو آلياتٍ ثقيلة أو قطعِ غيارٍ أساسية تمكّنها من تنفيذ أعمالها الحيوية في الميدان.
وتوضح البلدية أن أبرز الاحتياجات تتمثّل في مواد البناء الأساسية وعلى رأسها الإسمنت ومواد الإعمار، والآليات الثقيلة لجمع النفايات ورفع الركام، وقطع الغيار للمركبات والمولدات والمضخّات، إضافةً إلى مواسير المياه والصرف الصحي، وأجهزة الحاسوب وقطع الغيار وكوابل شبكات الحاسوب والإنترنت اللازمة لاستمرار العمل وضمان استمرارية الخدمات.
وتؤكّد البلدية أن مدينة غزة تعيش كارثةً حقيقيةً تتطلّب تدخّلًا عاجلًا لتوفير هذه المواد، من أجل وقف تدهور الأوضاع والحدّ من تفاقم الكارثة الإنسانية، والحيلولة دون انتشار الأمراض والأوبئة التي بدأت تُهدّد حياة السكان نتيجة تراكم النفايات وتلف شبكات الصرف الصحي والمياه.
كما توضّح أن المدينة، شأنها شأن سائر مناطق قطاع غزة، تعاني دماراً واسعاً طال المرافق الخدمية والإنسانية والبنية التحتية والمنشآت العامة والخاصة بفعل حرب الإبادة، حيث تتكدّس في المدينة كميات هائلة من النفايات تُقدَّر بأكثر من 260 ألف طن، وتتدفّق مياه الصرف الصحي في الشوارع وبرك تجميع مياه الأمطار، ما يُنذر بأزمةٍ بيئيةٍ وصحيةٍ خطيرةٍ تتطلّب استجابةً دوليةً عاجلة.

Gaza Municipality urgently appeals to international and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to provide emergency supplies in order to alleviate the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the city. The Municipality reports that since the ceasefire, no construction materials, heavy machinery, or essential spare parts have reached its facilities, leaving its crews unable to carry out vital field operations.
The Municipality explains that the most pressing needs include basic construction materials primarily cement and other reconstruction supplies as well as heavy machinery for waste collection and debris removal, spare parts for vehicles, generators, and pumps, in addition to water and sewage pipes, computers, spare parts, and network cables required to maintain operations and ensure service continuity.
Gaza Municipality stresses that the city is facing a severe disaster that requires urgent intervention to provide these materials in order to halt further deterioration, curb the escalating humanitarian crisis, and prevent the spread of diseases and epidemics that are beginning to threaten residents’ lives due to waste accumulation and the collapse of water and sanitation networks.
The Municipality notes that Gaza City, like the rest of the Gaza Strip, is suffering from massive destruction that has devastated service, humanitarian, and infrastructure facilities, as well as public and private properties, as a result of the ongoing genocidal war. More than 260,000 tons of waste have accumulated across the city, while sewage water continues to flow through streets and stormwater ponds posing a serious environmental and public health emergency that requires an immediate international response.
